Announcing the 2017 Orchard Project

We are proud and excited to share the twenty-eight artists and ensembles that will develop their big, new ideas at the eleventh ever Orchard Project this coming June. With work that spans every style imaginable, those in residence once again form a who's who of cutting-edge theater and performance artists.

This summer also marks our third Orchard Project Presents season, a series of public performances that will take place at venues throughout Saratoga Springs. Orchard Project Presents provides the rare opportunity to peek behind the curtain to see what some of the most exciting artists in the country are making. With a roster that spans Grammy and TONY® winners to top-notch talent of tomorrow, we plan to pack every week in June with exclusive events you won't want to miss.

While some Orchard Project events are free and open to the public, much of our 2017 programming will only be made available to members and donors supporting the Orchard Project at levels above $100. Members get access to special events, VIP seating at cabarets, additional tickets for friends, plus perks and discounts not available to the general public. Becoming a member is easy and if you have any questions about membership, just give us a call at (646) 760-6767 and one of our team will be happy to answer them.

We look forward to seeing you in June,
Ari Edelson
Artistic Director, The Orchard Project

Highlights of Orchard Project Presents include:

BUSK! and the BUSK! Cabaret (June 4th)
Kicking off a new tradition in Saratoga Springs, the Orchard Project will host over twelve amazing street performers in the parking lot and on stage at the popular Putnam Den. From live music to juggling to clowning and more, this free event – culminating in a special "Best of BUSK!" event that evening – will bring astounding local and national street performers under one banner for the first time. Bring the family (and a picnic blanket)!

The Doubtful Guest (June 8th)
A work-in-progress showing of this OP-accelerated project by NY's LubDub Theatre Co., The Doubtful Guest invites audience members to gather around a dining table for an intimate evening of music, magic, and spirits. Location TBA.

The Orchard Project Cabarets at Putnam Den (June 9th, 17th & 23th):
Combining artists who epitomize the Cabaret genre with boundary-breaking fusions of music and storytelling, our cabaret series will provide a rare sneak peek of exceptional artists and their new works in progress. Artists currently scheduled to appear include Mo Rocca, Julian Fleisher, Ryan Scott Oliver, and many more.

Pancakes and Plays (June 24th):
Come join the Orchard Project for excerpts of brand new works being developed by our writers-in-residence while enjoying a delicious pancake breakfast. We can't tell you exactly what to expect, but – given the quality of the writers in residence – we are sure it will be amazing.

Julian Fleisher and Friends (June 27th; $35-50 for members, $50-75 for non-members):
Writer, performer, and all around bon-vivant Julian Fleisher has been a mainstay of the Orchard Project ever since we found our new home in Saratoga. Now our Director of Cabaret and Musical Theater, Julian will be hosting a raucous evening complete with surprise celebrity guests.

An Intimate Evening with TBA (SHH! We can't tell you, yet!):
A world-renowned actor and vocalist shares an intimate evening with the Orchard Project.
